Review: This movie was way better than I was expecting it to be and I actually enjoyed it.

I liked the new additions to the traditional story it really added more elements and detail that helped make it better. Such as Genie actually being humanised and telling the story I loved that. Seeing Jasmine stand up for herself and her people that was great it’s wonderful to see a princess do that as most tend to shy away and not really fight for what they believe in. Her handmaid was a fun addition, why wouldn’t she have one? And the fact that you could tell they were best friends was great I liked the addition of her character.

Carpet was hilarious I love the way carpet was made and how characteristically animated he was, he had such a funny personality. The colours throughout the movie were so vibrant and so beautiful. I loved Jasmines outfits, I still wonder how Aladdin could have looked at her in those fancy clothes and not realised she was the princess but oh well. Genie was great, I liked that during the Prince Ali scene they actually did a lot of the transitions he does in the animated movie, it was so funny.

The songs were fun and wonderful to sing along with (if you like singing to movies that is) and the new additional songs were a great and fun addition too. The stunts Aladdin does my goodness they were incredible, it must have taken them a while to shoot those intricate stunts. The relationships between them all worked really well and you could feel the connections.

I really enjoyed this movie it was thrilling, fun, vibrant and very well made. There aren’t many of the live action Disney movies I actually like but I did honestly love this one and would watch it again and again.
