Review: When he finally gains his courage to leave his thieving uncle he hops a train and lands in the most perfect town he could arrive at. The carnival that is in town tries to recruit him for his slight of hand skills, but luckily he finds a group of other kids all into magic just like him and soon starts wanting to stay with them for good.

I really enjoyed the characters in this book the misfits were a great group of unique but talented kids they all worked together to solve and stop what was going on. I loved the magic, it’s rare to find a book that uses trick magic as the magic they possess.

The writing was basic and had an interesting way of telling the story, it had tricks and codes within the book as additional features. It also had some great illustrations throughout.

Overall I enjoyed the book, I didn’t love it, but I enjoyed it. It’s an easy and simple read with a great story of budding friendship and learning to work together and believe in who you are.
