Review: Are you afraid of monsters? Were you afraid of them as a child? Well this book has an incredibly brave, independent, smart lead character called Grace who isn’t afraid of any monsters, in fact sending them back to the monster world is her family business well that and running a bakery.
Everyday a new monster arrives and Grace is on the case, her older sister Danni knows exactly what baked goods each monster cannot resist and Grace goes to protect the children and rid the monsters from this world.
When a cyclops is spotted the hardest and worst monsters to get rid of who just happen to have an obsession with Doughnuts. Grace does everything she can to stop Mr. Harris but he comes back every time. And worst yet there is another Cyclopes on the loose and he’s worse. With help from family friends and her sister Grace has a lot to do In this book and she never stops until she feels safe and satisfied she’s rid of the monsters.
This book is amazing, it incredibly fun, so much to laugh at, so many amazing characters. I had such a great time reading it. The story dealt with other more serious issues too like family loss, family hatred, anxiety and each were handled really well. Sometimes a book as fun and easy to read like this is all you need to help your child understand what can usually be a big scary topic.
It’s such a clever book that I know young children are going to adore reading. I loved it so much, it wasn’t like anything I’d read before it was so unique and detailed and just an all round easy and fun book to escape into. This book has a mystery, an adventure, action, humour, friendship and so much more so make sure you get it and give it a read, you’ll love it.
