Synopsis: After the death of her father, Lizzie Barnes’ life takes an interesting turn when her mum brings home a journal.
Lizzie decides to use the journal to write short stories involving her beloved teddy bear Rodford and his arch-enemy Dr Ofdor, a villainous grizzly bear.
She soon notices it is no ordinary journal as people around her begin to have dreams based around her stories.
When Lizzie begins to experience the dreams for herself, she finds that as the creator, the rules of the journal can work against her.
Lizzie, with the help of Rodford and a rat named Ridgeley, must explore the different worlds while facing the dangers she created, including Dr Ofdor, to free herself from the workings of the journal.

Thank you so much to Author Charlie King for the copy of the book to read and review.
Review: Wow this book, I wasn’t expecting such a heavy topic but it was dealt with perfectly and creatively, what an amazing read.
After Lizzie’s dad dies she wants to keep everything to herself not sharing with anyone, plus being bullied at school too, as a way to cope her mum provides her with a journal, but it’s magical and she creates wondrous stories as her own personal way of dealing with all that’s going on in her life.
These fun fantasy adventures she goes on in her mind and written in her journal come true in other people’s dreams, as she battles her way through these dream stories she finds the strength and courage she was lacking before them and her voice is finally heard.
This book was beautifully written, it’s such a creative story I’ve not read a story like this previously. This is certainly an older MG book as it’s heavy and sad and reads for older children. It’s filled with fun dream stories and has an inspiring protagonist that children will love and admire.
