Review:

Moon has been putting on local musical theatre productions but as a scout comes to see his show he is told he’s not cut out for the big leagues. He won’t settle for that and takes his entire team to the big city, auditions for a big producer and puts on an original show together but face issues on the path to making it big.

This was not what I expected at all, I really thought it would be a good follow up to the first one but it really just wasn’t at all. I didn’t enjoy it, I didn’t like pretty much any of the music throughout it and the storyline was awful.

I was disappointed by the song choices, they just didn’t choose songs I liked or thought were good at all. I didn’t really like them throughout practically the whole show, it was not my kind of music and I just didn’t really care for them at all.

What I did like was the actual show they put on at the end it was a really creative scene, it captured the characters well and showcased something each one needed to work on and they did that. The songs they sang in this section worked with the storyline and I found this was the only part of the movie I had any enjoyment of watching.

This movie just really didn’t capture my attention at all, the storyline was really weird and didn’t correlate well to the first movie in my opinion. I loved the first one and thought more would have happened for the characters and that we would have continued with what Moon had created and found a new story that would have worked. We unfortunately just got a mess of a storyline, really bad song choices and very little character progression at all.

It was a big let down to me. I’m so disappointed in this movie it wasn’t good and I wanted so much more out of it than this. Though there were a couple little bits that made me laugh, on the whole it just didn’t.
