Review:
This is not the story of Buzz Lightyear the toy that we and Andy came to love in the Toy Story franchise. In this movie we are following what is supposed to be the movie Andy watched as a kid and fell in love with Buzz from. His adventure trying to break through space and get his people back home but failing and losing time as he goes.
This movie would not in anyway have been the movie that Andy watched all those years ago, it has so many inaccuracies to what we actually know of Buzz Lightyear and what was actually within that franchise. It’s a shame that it didn’t follow a storyline we would have expected, but it was still good.
The movie itself was actually really cleverly made and entertaining I did find I got sunk right into it and found myself enjoying the storyline, the captain, the connection the characters had throughout it. The world created here was really imaginative and so easy to watch and enjoy every bit of it.
We did get Zurg and his evilness, though it wasn’t exactly how I’d have pictured it to have gone. We eventually get the iconic and popular suit we know and love Buzz for. Honestly though that’s about all that links up to the original storyline, it’s a shame but it ties up a bit more towards the end. The additional features though inaccurate were really good and worked as a stand alone product.
I loved the graphics, the movie was visually pleasing and I liked how it had been created, was such a beautiful sight. I loved Sox he was so funny and actually cute, i thought from the trailer he would be a usulaess gimmic but to my surpise he was actually really interesting as a character and played a much bigger part in storyline too.
I did enjoy this movie, it had so much action, lots of storyline. Great creative characters and lots of space and robots things you’d expect for Buzz Lightyear. Only things was it didn’t feel like it fitted into Andy’s world of Buzz at all. Plus we needed Tim Allen to have voiced him, it really took you away from the true Buzz without the correct voice.
This was such an enjoyable movie and shocked me how good it was, I’d been so resistant to watch it, thinking it would be utterly awful. It wasn’t and I’m so pleasantly surprised by that. Obviously it had some issues the connection to the world we knew, the voice being wrong and things like that, but you can actually still enjoy them whilst watching this.
I think many people would love and enjoy this movie, just keep in mind it doesn’t correlate to Toy Story in pretty much any way at all as those parts are inaccurate. Any Toy Story fan could still easily get into this movie and enjoy it, the characters really are creative and the world building is done really well. It’s a great stand alone product of Toy Story’s world.
