Review:
A new take on Stephen kings firestarter, a family that had been test subjects who had a baby that is literally fire and can start one out of nowhere. They are in ten run so they don’t take her and test on her, but they get caught and the chase is back on.
I was so disappointed in this one I thought it would have been so much better than it was but it was so basic and even dull in places it was such a shame as it could have been a really good movie.
The casting was amazing in this movie, I really like seeing Zac Efron in a different type of role, and he was really good in it. Ryan Kiera was a really talented leading lady and liked her portrayal of the role, she had so many emotion and was fierce in what she did.
The storyline is where I have the issues, it was a very odd start and wasn’t gripping enough. The story progressed slowly and it felt like there wasn’t much of a storyline throughout it, It was a let down. We had them on the run and they weren’t really doing a lot, just kinda lurking around and not much else. I’m sure it was supposed to be a build up to what was coming at the end, but it failed to me.
I was really hoping for more, it’s such a unique story but it just kind of felt flat, it ended nowhere and it just felt like some major elements were heavily missing from it. I still liked watching it and am glad I gave it a shot, but it was just a let down and could have been so much more than it was.
